CEO LETTER ON UPC NAME CHANGE TO FIRST WIND

05/01/2008

Hello,

I am pleased to inform you that UPC Wind is changing its name to First Wind effective today, May 1, 2008.

We believe this name change to First Wind more clearly reflects who we are as a company, and more clearly reflects our commitment to being a leader in clean, renewable energy development in North America.

Although our name is changing, our core values will remain the same. We are still dedicated to the communities with which we partner and have a commitment to pairing economic development and revitalization with the development of wind energy and advancement of energy independence here in the United States.

I appreciate that you may wonder what this name change may mean to you and I want to assure you that you will notice no change in the day-to-day relationships that you have had with UPC Wind. Our organizational structure and local project team will remain the same. As such, you can count on the same focus and attention that you have come to expect from partnering with us.

As First Wind, we remain committed to our community partners, to seeking energy independence and to finding environmentally sensitive solutions to our growing energy needs. We look forward to continuing to bring these values to the development, construction and operation of our existing and future wind power projects.

Sincerely,

Paul Gaynor
President and CEO, First Wind
